Call for young artists: Paintings wanted for Olympic exhibition in Beijing

Despite the warm weather, Beijing is getting ready to host the Winter Olympics set to open in February 2022.

As part of the preparation, the host city invites children from all over the world to create paintings related to the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics. Chosen works will be exhibited in Beijing and elsewhere as part of the official 100-day countdown, starting in late October.

Anyone aged 4 -18 can take part by creating a painting on a piece of A3 paper or a canvas size F8.

Inspiration can be found in the themes, including “the spirit of the Winter Olympics and Winter Paralympics”, “ice and snow sports” as well as “best wishes to the 2022 Beijing Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.”

Participate by sending a photo of the artwork to by August 10, 2021! Photos of postcards with wishes for the Olympic event in Beijing are also highly appreciated.

Please include the name and age of the artist. Remember to include contact details, so that Sumino can get in touch if we are asked to send the original painting to the exhibition in Beijing.

The invitation is aimed at all children around the globe, so feel free to spread the word to all young artists that would like to get a chance to be featured in a big art exhibition in China!
